I admire your way of living. It's not exactly my lifestyle, but it's comparable in many ways. And I really love your children ♥

Snow! Good for you, the reason for moving to this part of America if I remember well. Lovely pictures (as usual). And don't eat the yellow snow ;-) There hasn't been snow in the Netherlands yet, except for december 20th. But the last couple of years we had snow almost during the whole winter!

Yes, very expensive. Somewhere between 7 and 20 euro's each (10-28 dollar) over here. The 'Sint Maarten' set of dolls costs nearly 68 euro (96 dollar).

I am still in love with the pumpkin hats...

By the way... I looked up the Dutch translation in 'the Sun Egg' from Elsa Beskow, because you thought it was a translation issue. Well, It seems that you are right. In Dutch it says that he is 'een plaaggeest' that has nothing to do with 'stupid', but it means something about teasing.

Wow, your seasonal spaces are so adorable. I love the Ostheimer animals, and the man on the horse (we call him 'Sint Maarten' in the Netherlands), but Ostheimer is so expensive, I can't afford them yet. Maybe I will ask some of the figures on my birthday.
If you are curious about my seasonal table, this is mine this year: http://yukikopesik.wordpress.com/2011/10/20/nu-da... (ignore the Dutch text, there are pictures as well) What you don't see on the pictures is that it has been expanded with leaves and more acorns and chestnuts, but it hasn't changed much since the last picture.

It's true, what K. 's teacher said. I'm a mother of five and without any time and/or space for myself it would be much harder to keep going in a good mood. And even with that time and space it's hard to be a good mother all day long.
Very recognizable knitting during each free minute, I do the same with crocheting or sewing felt-things.

I'm surprised that there is no snow in that part of the US. But it's beautiful out there.

How recognizable sounds this to me... My children are 15, 14, 9, 7 and 1 year(+10 months), and there is so much difference between the teenagers and the three youngest. What happened to their innocence? Once, I think the oldest was about 8 years, she called me a bitch because she was angry with me. I was totally in shock, but when I explained how rude, impolite and even offensive that word was, I discovered that she had no idea of the meaning of that word, except that it was something to say when someone is angry. It was something a friend of her had said... alas you can't protect the children from bad influences. But it helps to talk about it, so they learn how to deal with it.

(I hope you understand what I mean, I wasn't very good at English on school)

Oooh too bad. What part of the US do you live now? (I only know this blog for a couple of weeks). I love snowy winters. We are thinking (dreaming) about moving to Norway or Canada, but the last two years we had (in the Netherlands) for three months almost non stop snow. That's enough for me ;)
