There is never a last time to talk about LMM!

I kind of agree with you on that--although I know the idea is that Anne just ~*~loves~*~ the place in a more "I love it for what it is" than "I love that you could tear it down and build a gigantic place here on Spofford Avenue," which is what I'm sure a lot of other people would think. But no, I don't think it's possible that Anne could have loved Patty's Place that much having never stepped foot inside it! (As someone who has looked at a lot of houses, Anne: sometimes you can't smell the cat pee until you've stepped inside.) Who's to say that another girl didn't LOVE turnips with an unearthly vim, and had a passion for breeding new varieties or making turnip bisque, or whatever?

Come on, Anne.

I feel compelled to note that Laura Secord actually has one secondary (high) school named after her, but a few other elementary schools in Canada because elementary schools are disproportionately more likely to be named after women. Because of course they are.

However, there are still plenty of people who know NOTHING about her because we also have the very popular Laura Secord chocolate and ice cream shops, which are everywhere, and their logo is a drawing of a woman who may or may not actually be Laura Secord. It's weird.
