Commentary Magazine : Obama Won Ruling But Lost His Dignity

mikefoxtrot: The President thinks nothing of sending out emails with curse words in them... to his supporters! What should I conclude, then, and how should I respond? He has embarrassed the country with his lack of manners and has failed to be hospitable to visiting dignitaries who represent our allies. In my neck of the woods, we cling to our guns and religion and we call ill-bred, ill-mannered persons, "trailer trash." It may not be polite, but it's accurate. I feel no compunction about responding in kind, as he has insulted me several times... on the basis of my skin color, my region of the country, my religion, my political affiliations and my way of life. He reaps nothing other than what he himself has sown.

The first indication that trailer trash had landed in the White House may have been in the first months of this administration, when the White House neglected to hold the customary state dinner and full press conference during a state visit of the British Prime Minister. Who could forget that when Gordon Brown gave Mr. Obama a penholder made from the wood of a ship that had fought against the slave trade, Obama gave him in return a collection of Hollywood DVDs that anyone could pick up at the nearest Wal-Mart? Dignity? This president can't have lost it. He never had it in the first place.

Commentary Magazine : Intimidating Voters in Florida

There is another way to go at this problem as well. In some places - which shall remain anonymous for fear of Eric Holder's DOJ - folks are cross-referencing lists of registered voters with those who have claimed an exemption from jury duty on the basis of non-citizenship. Every time elections roll around, it's absolutely mind-boggling that the problems experienced in the previous election have still not been resolved. Citizens need to pay much more attention to the office of Secretary of State wherever they live. Unfortunately, George Soros figured that out before anyone else. http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/printgroupProf...

The Heritage Foundry : Obama Campaign Quietly Adds 'Clean Coal' to Energy Policy Website

WSJ 4/29: "Arch Coal and Alpha Natural Resources Face Lower Demand" WSJ: 5/3: "Alpha Natural Resources... 1Q Loss, Cuts Shipment" First the EPA makes it impossible for coal-fired power plants to meet the requirements of new regulations. Most older, smaller plants are forced to shut down (and I've heard it's required that they be DEMOLISHED in such cases - don't know if that's true). Then, surprise! surprise! The coal mining companies that were supplying those plants are faced with diminished demand for their coal. They cut back production, more coal miners lose their jobs. VOILA! In the WV Democrat primary, federal inmate Keith Judd beats Obama in what, ten counties? Mostly in the southern coalfields of the state. (A potted plant would have done the same.) This administration is an energy disaster. And as we say here in WV, we may be dumb but we're not stupid!

Commentary Magazine : Soros Won’t Play Ball with Democrats

I don't understand. Didn't Soros just pledge $1 million each to American Bridge 21st Century ("will focus on Republican candidates") and America Votes (a coalition of unions, enviros and wimmin's groups)?? Last election he spent $24 million... What would make anyone think he's not going to do the same this time, just because he hasn't... quite... yet?

Commentary Magazine : Obama's Cognitive Dissonance

Peter, with all due respect, the problem is not bipolar, nor projection nor cognitive dissonance. It's called narcissism. http://www.globalpolitician.com/25109-barack-obam... (2008) "The narcissistic leader prefers the sparkle and glamour of well-orchestrated illusions to the tedium and method of real accomplishments. His reign is all smoke and mirrors, devoid of substances, consisting of mere appearances and mass delusions. In the aftermath of his regime - the narcissistic leader having died, been deposed, or voted out of office - it all unravels. The tireless and constant prestidigitation ceases and the entire edifice crumbles. What looked like an economic miracle turns out to have been a fraud-laced bubble. Loosely-held empires disintegrate. Laboriously assembled business conglomerates go to pieces. "Earth shattering" and "revolutionary" scientific discoveries and theories are discredited. Social experiments end in mayhem."

Commentary Magazine : Obama's Monday Meeting with Netanyahu

No sooner said than done. Headlines in this morning's Haaretz say Bibi "will ask Obama to threaten Iran strike." Pretty much along the lines of that "third track" you mention. Pretty scary that any "diplomacy" between the American and Israeli "allies" is not taking place in the privacy where it belongs, but in the headlines in both countries. The personal relationship must be a shambles.

Commentary Magazine : The Real Reasons Conservatives Oppose Gingrich

Since Wehner's judgement has been so poor in the past -- as when he saw the "Arab Spring" as a vindication of the Bush "freedom doctrine" and called for the overthrow of Mubarak, whom he referred to as "Pharoah" -- I don't put a lot of stock in his opinion. That said, he only compounds my skepticism by reiterating his faith in commentators, editorial writers and congress critters -- over and above the will of the people. We'll see who gets the votes, which is really all that matters.

For anyone who doesn't understand what the "alleged Establishment." might be, just wait. If and when the Tea Party and other conservatives take their principles, energy and activism elsewhere, in frustrated response to the shoddy treatment we've received {such as in this post}, you will be able to see clearly who's part of the Establishment (or, as per Codevilla, "Ruling Class") because that's all that will be left in the Republican party. Good luck with that.

Now I despise W-S as much as the next right-winger, but to say that she blamed the TEA Party for the shooting is a complete distortion. It's bad enough that she associates "lack of civility" with the "growth of the TEA Party movement." Misrepresenting or exaggerating what she said negates the conservative belief that truth is sacred.
