I agree about perfectionism which is why we all need to accept that's not even possible. But, when it matters, I do strive for excellence---when time allows. That's why I'd say it's a concrete deadline that forces calling it quits lol Many authors never go back and reread their published books because later on they see things they want to change! And for me, the things I eventually catch are the type things that a good editor would probably catch. I don't have that and I;m not full-on writing the books. Just aching to and the chapter, an intro and two random scenes are all that's written so I read them repeatedly in spurts every once in a while. Keep hoping I'll write them before I die :D

Tina, I've wanted to write my novel series for YEARS and, through its morphing, a few years ago I wrote the first chapter because it was one of those wonderful "flood" moments. I can't tell you how many times I've reread and tweaked that first chapter, aching to actually do the work of plotting, etc., but never having the time to focus. I really hope you find the time to do this!
