I bet on Maelstrom Crystals and lost about 25k gold on 'em when the news came out that they were going to be purchasable items in the next patch.

I gave them to my guild, we turned them into enchants for our raiders, and at least salvaged *something* out of the matter. But yeah. Speculation is like that.
