Journalists are one of the things that always make me interested in a book, and this isn't even the first one you mention!

I'm currently reading books in two YA series, but I haven't read any of these (yet). I do someday intend to read something by Maggie Stiefvater, though.

Regarding books about angels/fallen angels: I read and enjoyed the Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick in December and January. It has Nephilim, which have always fascinated me.

I was getting excited! Up until the infidelity mention; that usually ruins a book for me. Love that you loved it, and your post, though!

That line about friendships is so right on.

I want to hear you expound about "We need these opportunities in which we can be swept up in stories that aren't our own...when we can love and care about something and give it our hearts and attention precisely because it doesn't matter."

This: "everyday following a sports team is pretty emotional business as it turns out." SO TRUE. Sometimes I feel guilty for following my team(s) to the extent that their wins/losses are impacting my emotional state.

And: the unscripted nature of sports is the best thing, I think, especially combined with the high drama.

Yay for reads that make you want to read all of the authors' backlists! That's got to be one of the best feelings. What was the other one you read during the readathon?
