think i might have been high balling the budget too. it said it was 5 million on wiki when i checked after a rewatch the other day but now it says 1.5 million.

i'm elated Moonlight won best picture! obviously its hard to overlook the massive fuck up that led up to that announcement (bananas to watch live). if you didn't know orginally La La Land was announced as best picture winner and 3 minutes in to their acceptance speeches everyone realizes Moonlight was the actual winner. kind of sad that moment of elation of being announced winner got taken away from the Moonlight crew but either way they won, and this is extremely important. not only for black and LGBTQ representation in film but indie/art films in general. Moonlight was a black-made independent art film that cost only 5 million dollars to make and grossed only 25 million dollars. and it won best picture. i am very pleased!
