The Music Within Us : E-Squared Book Club: Week 5

Hello Mara, Lovely question. What you see is what you believe. I practiced "seeing" the seeds in one row already growing amazingly fast, even before they ever sprouted. I did not think any particular thoughts about the other row. I paid more attention to one row, so I saw results in that row first. Is it "scientific" in the sense that it would pass a hard data test of measuring each sprout and mathematically comparing it to the other row? I don't know, but that's a different way of seeing. Thank you for your comment! And keep experimenting! Lisa

Thank you for that, Rayme! A great reminder for me that people listen to music not to hear perfection or correctness, but to experience some aspect of humanness - weird, free, it's all human!

@thestifledartist: Thanks for reading, and for sharing your own story. "Feeling positive and thinking good can happen is like stepping off a cliff into the unknown"....Yes, especially when we're not used to practicing that way of thinking and being! But from where I now stand, I know it works to keep practicing, because we really do become what we are practicing. Keep creating and sharing and spreading your love!! Thanks again...

@Max, probably all of the above! I definitely bought one copy. And plenty others have too. It's just interesting to me that of all the reviews in so many places in the internet, so few (if any) even began to talk about the actual book. It's well-written and entertaining, even if you exclude the first chapter, which is where the WSJ excerpt largely comes from. My point is, this kind of marketing seems to assume that the consumer cannot handle complexity. Maybe that's true too. Thanks for reading...

The Music Within Us : Purify Your Mind With Sound

Interesting that our minds want to know "what the sounds mean" instead of just receiving the sound vibrations and listening. The sounds in the mantra are not words in the sense that we learn language. Some of the sounds refer to the invocation of the five elements (earth, air, water, fire, ether) but beyond that there is no "translation" that will satisfy the language/understanding/meaning-making part of your brain. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for your comment, Victor! I love "the renewal of life"....it's always happening, and always in a continuous cycle following death and letting go. But we forget that sometimes and just want to see the new. New life needs space!

Robert, thanks so much for your comment! And a great blog you have there....helping approval addicts around the globe! I love the idea of a culture of failure...it should start in schools! I wrote a bit about Pixar's culture of "failing publicly, early and often" in this post: http://www.themusicwithinus.com/2010/05/12/creati...
