But then the state is deciding which relationship they approve of more, when loving relationships no longer just come in the form of marriage. It also ignores the growth of cohabitation. This approach may have worked 50 years ago, it doesn't now.

No it doesn't - people may be happily together and choose not to get married. I don't think its the state jobs to decide what sort of relationship is better, I do think it is our job to ensure equality under the law and currently when it comes to co-habiting couples that simply is not happening.

Do you have any evidence to back this up?

100% agree with this - I never understood when rightly gay marriage was made legal, why at the same time co-habitation was also given equal rights under the law.

Britain is changing and many people choose to co-habit. Its time we stopped judging them, realise they can and do provide a loving environment for families.

He's not saying that there is no problem with antisemitism, just that there are many moderate Labour people who are doing their best to fight antisemitism who deserve our support.

Wise words from Mr Stone here. I work where I can with some great people in the Labour Party, Liberal Democrats and of all parties to oppose antisemitism especially in the far left.

Bob you hit the nail on the head, but for many on the right the Greenbelt has become their religion which should not be tampered with, similar to the left on the NHS.

We could build the 2.5 million homes we needed on just 0.5% of England's landmass or 2% of the greenbelt, so to lazily just blame immigration for the housing crisis is simply incorrect as this ASI report highlights. http://www.adamsmith.org/news/press-release-free-...

I believe Adam is right. Much of the Greenbelt is not what those envisage. Especially for the younger generation, which I include myself in there is a housing shortage, and simply saying the greenbelt is off limits to housebuilding when we need to build many more houses is a stupid and ridiculous barrier to housing supply.

The Adam Smith Institute did an interesting report recently which showed if we built on just 3.7% of the Greenbelt in London, you could build one million new homes. If we did this, we would truly be the party of the property owning democracy.

It's not a London issue either. The report also highlighted that the 2.5 million homes which are required in the next decade could be built on just 0.5% of England's landmass or 2% of the Greenbelt. This shows that Britain is not full, and decisively that the issue is not of demand, but supply and restrictions on supply, such as not touching any of the greenbelt, even though a lot of it is not green and pleasant land. You can read more about the ASI report here: http://www.adamsmith.org/news/press-release-free-...

So its time to stop treating the Greenbelt like a sacred cow, and realise we have a housing shortage and its time rather than ignoring a solution which might be initially unpopular, that we show political courage and make the right decision.

It is clear that Simon Danczuk is an MP of considerable talent who is someone the House of Commons should be proud of. I say this as a strong Conservative, but sometimes you just have to be honest when an MP is speaking out and doing something right, regardless of which political party they belong to.
