SpouseBUZZ.com : Roll Down Your Sleeves, Marines

My husband (a Marine) is extremely upset about this change. From his perspective, the rolled-sleeves are part of what still sets the Corps apart from the other branches. In general, I don't care either way, but I can certainly see the symbolic meaning my husband is so set on.

SpouseBUZZ.com : The Stay-at-Home Wife

I'm a 26-year-old stay-at-home military wife as well. I've been working as a freelance writer & author for over 6 years - I started while I was dating my now-husband. He joined the Marine Corps a year ago & I am overjoyed that I am able to work AND be an active part of his military life at the same time. We plan to have a kid in 2-3 years & that will be an amazing adventure, but so is our life right now :)

Sorry to hear that you've had so many problems with Navy Federal - my husband & I have had nothing but a good experience. All of the positive things you say about USAA apply to us in relation to Navy Federal. Of course, like USAA, they are a large organization & not everyone's experience will be a positive one.

" You might get paid before those dates, particularly if you use a financial institution that pays early. However, be smart and budget so that your can survive until payday comes." Thank you so much for saying that! There has been so much hullaballo online about banks paying early & how it is going to affect how folks make their budgets. You don't need to change anything! Just assume that, as per usual, you will be paid on the 1st & 15th of each month. If you get the $$ early, that's awesome; if not, you won't run any risk of being behind on your bills.

I am so exceptionally delighted that you wrote this post! This is a concept that far too many people don't recognize & is something that I have struggled with for years. As a practicing Buddhist, I am forever a work-in-progress & this post is yet another reminder for me to continue in the right direction :)

You make a very intelligent point, Jenya. While some word definitions are rather ... well ... definite, the concepts of yoga & religion are not well-defined, despite many intentions to narrow their classifications. Some terms will be infinitely relative.

I used to be the very same way, Audrey, and our society definitely teaches us that last = bad, but we can choose to believe otherwise. When I made that choice, my life became exponentially better than I could have imagined. It's not a magical change, but every time you decide not to feel bad about being lost, your heart glows a little bit more :)

A wonderful comparison, Steve! Grace is not something that should be restricted by one's religious preference. I'm not Christian, but I do find "Amazing Grace" to be a spectacular & inspirational song. Curiosity is the ultimate antidote to fear - something that we don't instill in our younger generations, much to our own demise.

Hahaha, well said, AR! I have found myself to be a bit of a gypsy as well. In essence, no one is every truly "lost", but rather misplaced. We always find our way back to a sensible path eventually.
