I don't understand why people (mostly men) are saying here and on FB that Slaus' example is "not the same."

She made a theoretical joke about having sex with Channing Tatum. He made a theoretical joke about having sex with that model. As far as we know neither of them meant it seriously. So there, it's the same.

If you're gonna talk about "if it really happened" the situations are still on equal footing. Her lying about the parentage of a baby would be emotionally devastating to both her husband and her child when they found out. He leaving his wife and kids for a one night stand would be just as emotionally devastating for them.

One of the things EYE find interesting, is the fact that by saying the woman's comment is worse, you're basically also saying that the man's comment can (and should) easily be taken as theoretical, while the woman just joking out loud somehow automatically makes her guilty of actually doing it in real life.

Thoughts = Thoughts for a man.
Thoughts = Deeds for a woman.

Anyway, on my end I think they're both thoughtless and stupid, but I wouldn't leave T if she said something similar. I'd just threaten her with death and tell her that's the only way she'll ever leave me. LOL.

You wanted to be mocked and ridiculed. You wanted it because it would provide you with the affirmation that your faux righteous stance is "right" and that we're all horrible people.

What are you going to do now that you've received well reasoned, facts-and-examples ridden, Bible quoting responses shaming you for your blatant misuse of the word "Christian"?

I'm a bisexual atheist, so I know you would not listen to anything valuable I have to say, but I hope that you take the responses of those who are really following their faith and think hard about why you feel the need to waste your time expressing your hate of others.

Why do you feel the need to spend your time doing something destructive, rather than something constructive?

While you're out there walking through life hating people, judging people and spewing negativity, I'm out here living my life happy, fulfilled, and following my dreams. Me, a bisexual atheist. I'm bringing goodness and lightness into the lives of those who choose to associate with me.

Stop worrying about others, and look hard at yourself. Look HARD.

Happy Birthday bytches.

Sorry about not sending a pic/video (I've had a crazy week) but just put a dress on Boo and that's basically what I look like.

I don't come here and comment as much as I used to (mostly because I love work now so I'm always busy during the day) but I have made some amazing connections here.

I 100% agree with Twink that the DC get together for Fubs and Sherri's wedding was THE BEST get together of all get togethers in life. I had so much fun. I had so many laughs. I love you all.

What is the purpose of coddling kids and teaching them that everyone is a winner when all that does is make them ill equipped to deal with reality when they get older?

Whether you like it or not there ARE winners and losers in life. The sooner a kid learns to work hard to be a winner (at whatever they choose) the better they will be able to positively contribute to society. They should take Tyler's dominance as an opportunity to instill DRIVE into other kids so there really is a competition. Goodness knows more than anything success takes drive. I think you don't have to be the smartest or the richest or whatever, just the most driven.

I can't STAND most children these days, and it's because of the entitlement that adults teach them which this kind of crap.

I've always been an all or nothing type of person. I've cut people off completely with no remorse for much less. I was very honest with T when we first got together: nothing will lose my trust faster (or more definitively) than lying to me. Cheating is obviously included in this, as it is a form of deceit. I can forgive a lot, I would forgive her almost anything, but cheating is not one of those things. And I know myself, once I lose trust in someone it's impossible for me to rebuild it.

So I told her, if you ever consider cheating on me, think about whether the woman will be worth losing me forever because that's what's gonna happen. Some people can deal with and get past cheating, I am not one of those people and I was up front with her about it. For these same reasons, I would never cheat.

Plus, if it was just a sexual thing and she wanted to spice things up, I'm way too open to experimentation for her to need to cheat.

Truthful or not, commencement speakers (at any level) are meant to be MOTIVATIONAL. Telling someone that what they accomplished is really not that impressive is the exact opposite of being motivational. Therefore, he was working hard to be right/truthful in exactly the wrong place.

As they say, there is a time and place for everything. The graduation of a bunch of impressionable young men is not the place or time to tell them that there are a bunch of other students who are better educated than them. That is not motivational. If anything, that will just make them feel that pursuing an education is futile.

Sure Lupe may have been "right," he may have been "brutally honest," but was it worth it? Was it helpful? I doubt it.

Zell already made my argument for me in regards to the school.

In regards to the moms wanting the son to stay there, I'll be a little bit of a devil's advocate. I don't know much about South Africa to be honest, but perhaps their reasoning is based on the quality of schools available in their area. Maybe the Christian school is their best choice for an actual education? Just saying, they might have good reasons for wanting their son to stay there.
