TBH it's hard to tell which fonts you could use without the look at the bars the text would be on. The thing is to use delicate fonts that are readable and stylish. I like to just go on the http://www.dafont.com/ search for all free fonts, type in text in the preview box and then see which one fits my needs the best. Then experiment with them on the actual background.

Anyhow, good luck with the next video!

I think it's a bit better than mediocre, even though it's easy to watch it still takes from many other shows so it doesn't feel original and so I can't call it great, it's just slightly above average show with the lack of unique touch.

Well, as someone who in the past played with video editing (AMV to be precise) I must say it needs some work on a few things:

1. Bars are too big, cover too much of the actual content, they should have higher transparency, be much smaller or have more appealing look so people don't mind looking at them for too long, but still, shouldn't cover that much.
2. The font was ok for the entrance but in the long run it got annoying. For the titles you should've used something more elegant and readable.
3. Anime quality is quite bad, always try to use the 720p episodes (after converting mkv to avi) and then saving it in 720p quality once project is done. Also using effects such as glows, contrast etc. can improve some of the scenes nicely by adding more importance to them or just increasing overall quality.
4. More text! Throughout the video except for titles all I see is 'BEST ANIME', so I take it you didn't really want to compare them, but still what was the countdown for? If all the previous ones were BEST then you should call it FAVOURITE or something. Also in videos like this some voice-over with a short comment always plays nice :)

That's it for the video, I really liked the songs you chose and the scenes editing, what I said is just some friendly advice, hope you don't mind ^^

As for the Anime choices, I'd argue day and night about Steins;gate being overhyped and not deserving more than 8/10 for the poor side characters' sideplots and the massive plot holes, but I can understand what it is to Anime fan when some serie really hits bullseye on your taste, every fault becomes minor in comparison to the great feelings you went through when watching it. I also think it's one of the best of the year though.. It really got me excited to see each next episode.

Natsume I stopped liking with the two last series, it just became so repetitive and they keep going back to the 'I had no friends in the past' overused drama. But the serie is hard to hate for the peaceful atmosphere and cheerful characters.. So I guess it is above average.

Madoka Magica, Usagi Drop and Fate Zero were truly memorable and I agree in 100%. I'm only surprised that Nichijou didn't make it through, but then again, comedies can be VERY taste dependant. And you're awesome for not including Ano hi mita, this show got so much love for unknown to me reason.

Looking forward to another, improved video in the future! Hopefully I wasn't too mean for my first comment on your blog though ._.

EDIT: Holy crap longcat is long..

Image composition in this post won my heart. Seriously. You have outstanding aesthetic intuition and damn you for that, I just drooled over friggin' images of creepy dolls!

That said, I'm also very much into Another, that mystery fog covering the show is lots of fun for my brain that tries to analyse everything to come up with a solution to characters' behaviour. Feels like Sherlock, except this time I actually know that it doesn't just seem like a supernatural case. Fun fun fun fun. (It's fridaaay... okay I will shut up now)

I'm with you Tofu, the show isn't outstanding and it feels a lot like other shows. I mean seriously, it does start with a girl falling off the sky.

But it's not a bad show either, I find it somehow soothing and easy to watch. I just hope it won't jump into 'girls fighting over a boy who can't decide until the final episode' wagon.

That said, watching it for the cute and silly alien.

It's only smart not to, like you said, it's simply not worth it.

In my case, I watch shows like these before going to sleep, as long as they don't hurt my brain, they're a good sleeping pill.

Sadly this is so true. Kill Me Baby turned out being completely flavorless, most of the scenes/character reactions you can predict so there's no way they're going to be funny..

Recorder was even bigger disappointment, I'm just glad it was so short.. I don't think either of these shows have any chance of getting better.

Well, my hope goes in the mecha comedy and the something something with gintoki's seiyuu.

12 years ago @ Sekijitsu - Un-Go [Review] · 0 replies · +1 points

I can't really say I understood the whole meaning of the show, but then again, it was really chaotic and most of the episodes felt rather meaningless for that short of a serie.

It's definitely not my kind of a mystery Anime, it definitely lacked the 'excitement' factor that comes from a grand plot twist or an event that you could foresee with enough focus and deduction. In this case, it was mostly confusion and surprise.

So for me that was but an average show, specifically a better version of Gosick, as in UN-GO there actually were characters that I enjoyed watching. Yet the potential felt completely wasted, I liked the idea of a detective solving cases with a help of a demonic entity that drains people's souls by learning their truths, but the way UN-GO went with that plot was just a dissatisfactory. The cases were too random and lacked the element of thrill or any emotion whatsoever. So even though the music and animation were great, I can only feel disappointment in the story and characters for the most part.

Yet I can understand why you enjoyed it, the review is fair and makes a good point about all the positive aspects of the show. I suppose the 'beautiful lie' theme is just not my taste.

This has to be the best Winter 2012 Anime Introduction post yet, amazing composition and style!

Looking forward to all the comedies + Another, the season doesn't seem to have any flashy titles though.. Maybe except for Bakemonogatari sequel, but then again, not everyone enjoys the mindfuck.
