Dear Gigirose, First I want to say congrats on your new baby! I'm the Exec. Director of Every Child By Two, the organization referenced in this article. The recommended schedule is so heavily researched that in my mind it is unthinkable to just make up our own schedules - which is basically what the Dr. Bob Sears Alternative Schedule is - an untested list of suggested times to vaccinate. Before a vaccine is approved by FDA manufacturers must test it in combo w/ all the other vaccines infants receive to ensure they don’t have ill effects. Personally, I wanted my kids fully vaxed ASAP b/c I knew that they weren't protected until they were finished. The Dr's waiting room seemed like an infection pool that I preferred to avoid as much as possible - returning for extra visits seems a bit daring to me. My son was hospitalized not once, but twice for influenza as an infant and it terrified me. I digress. Refer to Pediatrics article on sched. ttp://www.aap.org/pressroom/drbobsvaccineschedule2009.pdf . Check out our website for more info on the timing of vaccines
