I have feared this. You mention the funny feelings in the stomach and you know what, he mentions his stomach hurts probably 90% of the time when he wakens in fear. It's so hard to know with his GI issues, which are still somewhat of a mystery. I feel like Cameron needs a full head to toe work up but there is no one around here who specializes in Autistic kids and their medical issues. Once we get our inusrance issues worked out, I'm going to see what is available in Atlanta and at Vanderbilt in Nashville. The thought of taking him back to our current neuro gives me the heebie jeebies!

Honestly, just knowing I'm not alone is a big help. I keep wondering if I'm doing something wrong but seeing the comments from other Autism mama's helps me to realize that it's not just us and doing whatever we need to do is a-ok.

We did do a sleep test but it was almost two years ago. Another one was ordered but we never went through it because I know he will not fall asleep hooked up to all those wires. Can they test without doing a sleep study?

I think it is a sensory issue. We've done brushing and massage but he's still waking. I really need to finish his weighted blanket I'm making =(

We have Calms Forte and Melatonin but they do not keep him asleep. What is 5htp?

I have and am not sure how I feel about it. I applaud her bravery and my heart goes out to her and the struggles they live with but at the same time, she is comparing her child to a murderer and putting that thought out there for the world to see while taking very minimal precaution to protect his identity. I'm also bothered by the Autism-violence link that could be questioned in her post as well.
