I had a dentist appointment to replace a crown last Friday. I remember feeling so smart and capable, scheduling to get it done when I'm off work. That really kills the vacation mood.

I love my power bank! It is rose gold to match my phone, because I love things like that. And you don't have to charge the power bank nearly as much as a phone, so you're good to go. Happy New Year!

I was totally afraid of falling into a river of lava after my older brothers let me watch a Star Trek episode where a red-shirted crew member fell into one. I've lived in San Diego my whole life, and there are no active volcanoes, but that didn't stop me.

Pushing the twelve year old dog up hills in a dog stroller has been my recent pursuit. Yes, I purchased a dog stroller on Amazon for exactly that. But he's happy, and I rocked my 9/11 remembrance hill climb today, so it's all good!

All my pets have middle names, but the bearded dragon's nicknames were my favorites (may he rest in peace). His name was Phil, and his nicknames included Phillip Charles Arthur George (an ode to Prince Charles when Diana muffed his name during their wedding), Philly Cheesesteak, Cheese, and Cheeser. Our 12-year-old dog Max (whose whole name is Maximilian William Vermillion) gets Maxi Man, Mad Max, Maximus Prime, Brother (he's the only boy), and Brother Bear. My kids aren't exempt, either. My daughter's are Monkey, Monkey Butt, Punkin, Punky, Punky Brewster, Rachie Rach, and Rachinator (her name is Rachel). I have a problem.

I kept seeing rainbows after my mom died, so now I think it's her saying hi when I see them. And the whole pennies from heaven thing from my late husband, too.

I read somewhere years ago that people would say "bless you" because they thought your soul came flying out with a sneeze, and that would make sure you didn't lose it?? Not sure if that's true, but I'll bless myself if no one does it for me ha ha ha!

Oh Nichole, this is EXACTLY where I am at in my life! Every word you wrote resonates with me. What is the point of life without intention, without love, without a real purpose? I started a blog and published my first post just this week, because I'm starting my life all over at 51, and I want to both document it and use it to help me figure it all out. I'm saving your post for the inevitable days when I wonder what the heck I'm doing.
