The Europeans are tied by trade to Russia. It is Russias biggest trading partner.
Also think of Germany and it's gas pipeline from Russia. About 40% of Russia's exports went to the EU, and about the same EU exports went to Russia.
The EU won't have anything to do with war with Russia because of that.
And also because they will suffer, not the US, from Russian retaliation.
If the US wants to go to war with Russia, they will be going it alone.
China is Russia's close allie..another country giving and getting trade with the EU.
There will be no war with Russia by NATO. We are just being gaslighted by a fading empire that won't accept the fact that the world is trading with each other to the benefit of everyone.

Nah...I think they should keep on doing what they are doing. Standing up to us and making the US look like the fools we are. When the US has no friends left, it will stop trying to build this military global empire and the world will be a peaceful place.

Excellent article, Mr. Cook.
I think some of the commenters are getting sidetracked from the point of his article. Whether he believes there is a virus or not, is immaterial to his article. He is writing his article within the framework of the times, (and "leaders") being what they are today, that in the UK freedom of speech and the right to protest are under heavy attack. As in the US...First Amendment Freedoms. The most important freedoms. He is saying that these freedoms must be fought for or there will be no other freedoms again... ever.
