Life in Student Ministry : Should vision be top-down or grassroots?

The Biblical precept is to be top down. Jesus didn't go to the Disciples and say, "Hey guys, how do y'all think we should run this gig?" However, I have seen where individuals have been passionate about something and the leadership "caught" the passion. But if leadership isn't on the board with the program, there is no way it will succeed.

I find this particularly humorous because you did a post just the other day about the Christian symbolism in Harry Potter, did you not?

My church runs a school... Recently we had our football and softball team honored during the Sunday morning service for their great performances this year. It was one of our highest attended services this calendar year. Was it a bait and switch?
