Beautiful trip and so much to see. I went to Spain as part of a package vacation as a teenager with my school and we were herded from one place to another way too quickly. Now that my Spanish is much better than it was back then, I'd love to give it another try at a more leisurely pace. The breakfast looked delicious and so fresh. How great that you got to share this adventure with your son.

I can help you save even more money - next time get a can of Don Pepino pizza sauce. I used to work at an Italian restaurant and that's what we used and I've always loved it. It costs about a dollar, I believe.

As for the pizza empanadillas - yum! - Never heard them called that though. Italians call them "calzones" - which I guess is less appetizing to Spanish speakers ;)

I think I bought our big calendar at Target for $1... Those can sell for $10 or more, so I love buying them each year at a good price. I hot glue magnets to the back so I can hang it on my fridge and each year I just pull the magnets off and glue them to the new one. LOL. Economical and ecological :)
