Great analysis Tony! To your question, "what have you found that drives your social profile forward?", for me its simply my approach to social networking in general. My Twitter profile says it, and it is: "Values relationships, community, connecting, sharing, learning & helping others." By applying this, my social profile drives forward naturally. I never really think about how I will get more followers, but I often am left wondering who else is out there that I should be following, but haven't even discovered yet. It it wasn't for my food blog and Twitter, I would never have met you and Myriam Thibault for example (see http://asktonyfood.wordpress.com/2008/11/01/a-spe... ) If it wasn't for coffee mornings and the power of Twitter, I would never have met Robin or any of the other great people contributing here.

I am also reminded of the great LinkedIn recommendation you gave me back in February 2010:

I love those words Tony, and I thank you for them. It really captures the heart of the matter of why I participate in social networks: to help others.
