Casually agreeing with everything in this comment. ^

I remember those days, they were a wonderful time and are what I've more or less been rambling on about in my other comments. The time when EqD was THE place to go to find brand new musicians who had a real passion for the art and genuine drive to improve. Those musicians still exist, they're still out there, and I wish EqD could help me find them again.

"Showcase" is a good word to use too.. maybe a combination of yours and Poppun's idea, "Rising Stars Music Showcase"? I'm really liking the feel of this one...

I like this one! Especially along with some sort of quality standards, it would go a long way toward pushing these posts to what they've needed to be and once were back when EqD was still young: a way to find skilled new musicians in the fandom. Music posts on EqD have a large falloff because once you've found an artist you can follow them directly and EqD always lags a couple days to a week or more behind their releases if they aren't one of the big names who get to have spotlights (which have an even more severe falloff since being big names means most people are already aware of them and probably already following them if they like them) so there's no reason to track them on EqD and thus little reason to look at the music posts UNLESS the opportunity to find more skilled new musicians exists.

I like the new genre details as well, really helpful for filtering for likely interests if time is in short supply (as it so often is.)

With music posts, I always only used them to find new musicians to track. Once I've subscribed to a musician on youtube I get all their videos in my inbox and more and more the posts on EqD were about songs I'd already heard a few days ago so eventually I stopped following them. After a bunch of musicians started abandoning their audiences (music is music and I'm happy to listen to good music regardless of pony content but if you're going to throw away your audience in the transition then I will not follow you forward) I tried coming back to EqD to find new musicians again but you guys had switch to the "spotlight" and "music of the day" system which made this a nightmare. On the one hand, spotlight posts 100% of the time were musicians I'd already known about and a song I'd already heard. On the other, "music of the day" had basically no quality control at all and no sense of genre theming like the old style posts had so trying to pick out what I might like, and then discover what I did like, took far too much time than I have available to spend on it. My main source for discovering new musicians for the past couple years has been the "top 10" videos that Paleo manages.

I thought those questions were to guage your personality type, to see if you're someone who always does as instructed or not (seeing as all the other questions were for guaging personality type this did not seem unreasonable). Alternatively I thought they were joke questions to insert some humor into what was becoming an exceptionally long sequence of questions. If I just wasted my time this whole survey is stupid because there was no warning of any kind that those questions must be answered exactly the right way.

The Lion King is a family-friendly movie. I can never take anyone at Hasbro or DHX seriously when they claim they can't do death in "a children's show" because The Lion King has a G rating (meaning it's considered suitable for children as young as THREE YEARS OLD.)

Also they did kill Sombra. Let us never forget that. (Twilight's bees are also dead.)

Archie never left, his label was just being a dick. But he was sneakily continuing to release pony music on another channel the whole time. Looks like he's free to release stuff openly again, so that's good to see!

Nope! Hasbro can't touch them, they have no jurisdiction over there.

They must be desperate if they are resorting to this kind of tactic. Looks like this "game" is finally starting to die. Looking forward to the day when I no longer have to hear about it.
