I’d travel to work, the park and the sea
and visit my friends to chat over tea.
Also to Paris and other exotic places
Taking photos of so many new faces.
My iPad would go everywhere
Because it fits in my handbag, no-one knowing it’s there!

The front and back covers would be a collage of the photos I took of last year's treasured artworks created at school and home. This would be a fantastic way to watch my budding artist's style develop over the years.

I dream of tall tomatoes and climbing peas a-growing
After my hopefully-successful seeds-asowing…
They’d be eaten raw, fresh as can be
Then there’d be a happy me.
A lemon tree would also be, ever so handy,
For pancakes, risottos, G&Ts, but not for shandys.

Smart phones with good cameras have certainly changed the way we're able to capture life's little moments as photos and on video: the poignant, the good, the bad, the funny, the sad...
People often say to me "why are you taking photos?" but then they see the photos and they know why.

I wish I had photos of the last day I saw my mother. I was full of excitement as the next day I was off on my big overseas adventure for 6.5 months. Little did I know that she'd be dead within the week and that I wouldn't find out for a month. It was in the days of aerogrammes and I was half way through writing one to her, about all the little things I thought she'd enjoy, when I found out about her death. I was devastated and such a long way from home.

Thank goodness we now have digital cameras, smart phones, blogs... these tools all help us stay in touch so much more easily with those we love.
