Big Hollywood : NBC In Ratings Free Fall

The National Biscuit Company had been known as NBC up until the 50s or 60s when it was changed to Nabisco to avoid confusion with the network. There is one other example. The Warner's lingerie company used to be known as Warner Brothers and often used the WB initials. Now they change it to Warner's to avoid confusion with the Warner Brothers movie studio.

Big Hollywood : Today's Open Thread: #11 'Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson'

Classic Karnak: Karnak: Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, and Dolly Parton Ed: Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, and Dolly Parton Karnak: Name two boobs and a country singer. I don't remember the exact names of the politicians who were the two boobs, I just substituted Carter and Ford for them. Another Carson moment was when Ed asked Father Time (Carson) about the performance of the Carter Administration in 1977. Father Time answered, "Tampa Bay won two more than he did." He made so many jokes about the 1976-77 Buccaneers, that one sign in Tampa Stadium said, "Sack Johnny Carson."

From the first Naked Gun movie in its famous opening Qaddafi: Nonsense! The solution is not bold enough for Libya! We must take out Washington and New York! Gorbachev: What? And spoil 3 years of good public relations? The Americans think I'm a nice guy. In some of their polls, I'm more popular than the President! The people there must have thought he was a nice guy and not a commie and responded to some of their polls who thought he was more popular than the President.

Big Hollywood : 'Lombardi' Review: The Legend and His Values Arrive on Broadway

Due to their performance the last two weeks, Bo Pelini should show the Lombardi "Grab, grab, grab, no tackling!" clip to his players, since that's what they did. That was from a loss to the Rams in 1967, but the team would lose no more that season. As for a play about a legendary AFL coach, I think Hank Stram would be a good subject for a play or movie. Keep matriculatin' the ball down the field boys!
