I'm so sorry. My daughter was stillborn because they had to induce the labor when she was so premature. It's just so suddenly traumatic.

In some ways a year is long, but in others it's just the blink of an eye.

I hope you have supportive friends and family to help you through. If not, you can always email me :)

Xoxoxo

Sent from my iPhone

ah, mama. :( that sounds like a sad story. But you never know what
will come of it, or the far reaching effects. Loving other people is
never a dead end.

freeplaylife.com : The Golden Rule of Parenting.

I always associated a particular sound and action to anything hurtful.
Like, if my young child had fallen and hurt themselves I would shake
my hand and go \"Oooowie!\" with emphasis. Then give hugs and kisses
liberally. The next time they'd fall or get hurt I'd do the same
thing with my hand and voice. It doesn't take long for them to
associate the hurt feeling to the sound and action. I could use this
proactively if they were going for something that would hurt them, and
make the sound while they were focused on the thing in question.
Mostly, this helped. But sometimes not. And kids are hardwired to
explore! Toddlers are exhausting, man.

wow. you are GOOD at this! Go you!

Parenting should be an event at the X games, I swear. It's intense!

Remember, while you are parenting an intense child (not sure what her
younger sister is like!), you need to make sure to treat yourself just
as carefully and respectfully. Be good to yourself too, Mama, and
reenergize yourself so you have lots to give your girls.

I only have those examples because I'm guilty as charged! That's why
I said 'beyotch' instead of 'bitch'...it sounds a little kinder, don't
you think? Like, instead of being controlling beyotches, let's go for
sexy beyotches instead! ;)

freeplaylife.com : The Emotional Lives of Children.

explosive anger and violence towards a sibling is intense, and can
really trigger emotional responses. with a speech delay and her age,
words aren't going to really help the situation. However, more love
and attention is always a step in the right direction. Is there a way
you can engage with her more when she isn't angry or violent, and
learn some signals for when she's about to blow and redirect or divert
it with some one on one?
