I have the same reaction to this time of year. Finally, we can go to
all the places we've avoided all summer! ;)

I'm so sorry. My daughter was stillborn because they had to induce the labor when she was so premature. It's just so suddenly traumatic.

In some ways a year is long, but in others it's just the blink of an eye.

I hope you have supportive friends and family to help you through. If not, you can always email me :)

Xoxoxo

I'd hate to have to live out something this personal in front of the
world :/ It's hard enough as it is!

I got the 'this is sex. Don't do it until you're married' version. Short and sweet.

ah, mama. :( that sounds like a sad story. But you never know what
will come of it, or the far reaching effects. Loving other people is
never a dead end.

I always associated a particular sound and action to anything hurtful.
Like, if my young child had fallen and hurt themselves I would shake
my hand and go "Oooowie!" with emphasis. Then give hugs and kisses
liberally. The next time they'd fall or get hurt I'd do the same
thing with my hand and voice. It doesn't take long for them to
associate the hurt feeling to the sound and action. I could use this
proactively if they were going for something that would hurt them, and
make the sound while they were focused on the thing in question.
Mostly, this helped. But sometimes not. And kids are hardwired to
explore! Toddlers are exhausting, man.
