I am not a crafty person, but I think I might try those spoons. Or save up and buy some from you. Very, very, very cute!

http://www.premeditatedleftovers.com/ : Angel Hair Pasta with Garden Vegetables

This looks delicious! We are at the tail end of our garden with just a few more tomatoes to pick, but local vegetables are still inexpensive at the market or farmer's markets. I'm going to have to give this a try - anything pasta and vegetable at our house would be a hit! My recent post Food Waste Friday- Missing Meatloaf

I Pick Up Pennies : Why I love my local Hispanic market

The same reason I love our local Asian markets. The quality is good and the prices are incredible.

I Pick Up Pennies : How much do you spend on groceries?

We budget $480 a month for 5 but it's tough to not overspend. We eat very little processed food, and not all that much meat, but our budget also includes toiletries, toilet paper (no more paper towels), wine for my husband and myself, and coffee. Our one "junk" item is ramen noodles for the kids. Not all that healthy, but inexpensive and comfort food for them. They probably eat them 2-3 times per week.

I Pick Up Pennies : The cost of being employed

If you're even thinking your husband might need a new working wardrobe, and you're willing to go the thrift store route, I would start scouting thrift stores, garage sales, etc. now and just put the stuff away. My husband doesn't need anything, but I see great "name brand" (J. Crew, Land's End, Eddie Bauer, etc.) shirts all the time at Goodwill. He could get a very decent wardrobe (shirts and slacks) for far less than he would pay at even Marshall's or other discount places or at least supplement few new pieces from the stores. Last month I picked up a J. Crew shirt in nearly new condition at a yard sale for $1, washed it and it's one of my husband's new favorites. The only thing about thrift store shopping for particular items is that you either have to get lucky or be patient, but the good stuff does show up.
