It's definitely not my best, but normally I wouldn't draw architecture or expansive backgrounds under any circumstances. This event is really pushing me to try new things. :D I also want to design my own qilin pony now....

I feel like I would've remembered it if it had been mentioned. o.O But it's been a while since I've seen that episode so I'll rewatch it just in case I missed something. xDDD

EDIT: I just rewatched it and I think you might be confusing Hong Kong with King Kong. ^^; King Kong is a giant ape who has a penchant for kidnapping women and subsequently scaling skyscrapers. Hong Kong is a large city on the southern coast of China which was a British colony until 1997 when it returned to Chinese rule. Not quite the same thing. x)

The shape of the hooves will always be relative to the position they're in. From what I can tell by your picture, it would look a little odd to make the left hoof flat because it doesn't match the angle of the hoof or the position of the leg (which is what controls the angle of the hoof). It's possible to have mismatching hoof shapes as long as the pose and angle would support this and make it look natural. Raised hooves are generally spade-shaped, though the exact shape depends on the angle; the purpose of making hooves flat is to establish weight.
