The Podcasters Studio : TPS Ep. 067 - Using Affiliates with Your Podcast to Make Money

This was great content! What is the exact affiliate manager plugin that Daniel recommends? I'm sick of AdRotate, and there are "Ad Manager" and the more popular "Simple Ads Manager."

The Podcasters Studio : TPS Ep. 067 - Using Affiliates with Your Podcast to Make Money

Many affiliates will let you create multiple tracking IDs. So if you want to use the same affiliate on your five separate sites, you could either use a the same link among them all and never know which site is converting better; or you could create an ID for each site so you could see each site's performance. For example, I use separate tracking IDs with my Amazon.com affiliate links. I can see that two of my five sites are generating profit, the other three don't sell anything.

The Podcasters Studio : Rode NTG-1 Microphone Demo and Review

Awesome review! The one thing I wish it had is some sample of ambient noise, like wind or a crowd. In your editing, how would you compare the sound to the Heil PR40? This sounded quite close, so I wonder if it could be a versatile alternative for studio recording. Then again, the immobility might be a killer, if speakers have to stay in a tiny cone to be recorded.

I'd love to keep listening to Adventures in Odyssey, but it fell by the wayside for me several years ago. I'm way behind. I used to have wholesale accounts with multiple distributers and would sell AiO in my church. I made enough money to buy all of the cassette albums for myself, up until around 2001, I think. My recent post Who is the Stranger? Is Rumpelstiltskin Good?
http://imake.libsyn.com/ : Podcast Clean Up: Wordpress 101 Permalink Power - i make libsyn

I've seen mixed opinions on revealing the date. Some themes (or just peoples' choices) hide the posted date. This is terribly annoying when the author is not a good writer and they use relative terms and never reveal an absolute date. Some people feel that a post with a date will seem outdated after a while. I personally disagree. Especially with technical information, I want to know when the post was written so I can figure out whether it's still relevant. I think it's more important to have the date on the page than in the URL. And adding a date won't allow WordPress to use the exact same slug, such as: 2011/top-ten-apps 2012/top-ten-apps Instead, WordPress would turn it into: 2011/top-ten-apps 2012/top-ten-apps-2

Having the year can be nice, but it's certainly no longer required with WordPress 3.3. There used to be a performance penalty to /%postname%/, but they fixed that in WordPress 3.3.

Great comment, Tim! Indeed, Audacity is great for starting out. Actually, I think that most podcasts don't need anything more than Audacity since podcasts are fairly basic audio. I sometimes think about upgrading to Adobe Audition, but then I can never answer my own question of "Why?"
