Agreed. Introversion is about getting your energy from spending time alone, not necessarily being shy. I enjoy talking to people, but it's exhausting.

Luckily, I've found a nice community here with the DENTAC wives as well as the female dentists—we try to get together once a month and it's always a fun night. But I still have to go home and relax by myself for a little while afterwards.

I can understand the people who say get rid of it entirely over raising prices—it makes sense, at least for people living off post like myself. The only reason we go to the commissary over the dozens of grocery stores and Walmarts that are closer is because of the lower prices. If they weren't lower than the rest of the "brand name" stores, why would I trek to the commissary?

Of course, that's just my personal opinion, and I would also prefer that they leave the commissary alone because I like shopping there. But I can see others' points of view, too.

I hear ya. You can't trust me in a bookstore. Last year, my husband and I met up with a potential wedding invitation designer in a Barnes & Noble and we got there early, so we probably spent $50+ on books just because we were in the store and we had nothing better to do. It was a good day but also a bad, bad day. It's almost impossible for me to go into a bookstore without buying anything.

And it's even worse with Amazon, especially with preorders because I'm like, I can order this now and won't have to pay until June when it comes out! Yay! So I'm not really feeling the pain immediately, which is a problem. Much like Carol above me, I'm pretty sure I don't actually want to know how much I spend on books...

I'm not usually a big fan of touchy-feely books like this, but I thought it was great. It didn't feel contrived at all, and I think you got it just right in your review.

Plus, I spent four years in college in Newton, Massachusetts (not at Brandeis, though) so it was nice to revisit that. :)
