Few weeks ago I drove past where she lives. There are two 99 Cent Only stores within a mile of each other along with some other discount stores that feed her addiction, and that chain sells groceries including refrigerated goods like eggs and produce. And while there are knock off brands there, 2/3 of their stores are national brands. People who think Trader Joe's shoppers are snobs go to the 99Cent Only stores.

Sales tax on some items so its probably 95 items. I just wonder if she has a preferred buyer card since she spends so much a week there and they are enabling her pre-hoarder syndrome.

They've always been compared to Zep since they started. That was the knock against them since Cornell sings in an upper register. This song sounds like an outtake from Down on the Upside.

Went to go see Soundgarden play supporting Badmotorfinger and he and I looked enough alike at the time that some teenager mistook me for him after the show. I totally played it off and my friends clowned me for it but that guy probably tells the story of how nice Chris Cornell was to him. Years later I literally bump into Cornell shopping. We look at each other like, "You look familiar." and walk away.

Bruno Mars' mom likes to occaisionally drink at a bar across the street and hit on my friend.

My cousin used to live in same building as GNR and she thought they were so disgusting, (well yeah, they were all junkies then, lol) but her roommate said they were going to be huge.

One band was called Sinister Dane, out on Sony, and the other was called the Urge, who had a semi hit with 'Walk Right In'. SD did heavy touring with Living Color. With the Urge, saw them play the Whiskey out here before they went on European tour opening for Korn. The other opening act: Incubus. Brandon had dreads and thin little wispy mustache, not the heart throb he is now. And the Urge got lost in the shuffle. Such as the case with GNR on tour with the Cult. Opening act's LP breaks out and they become more popular than the headliner.

Growing up I had friends in bands that did the same thing, which stems from being huge Fishbone fans: ska based songs then add the R&B, punk rock and new wave influences, most times all in one song. These bands got signed to major labels too and toured with Living Color and 24/7 Spyz. But their songwriting changed as they got older and didn't want to be locked into ska band status. This was before No Doubt blew up and the ska fad came about. I actually told one band that they should have stayed a ska band instead of being a proto Rage Against the Machine and their label would have kept them around.

I can see where you want the band to be more of the just having fun playing type and not No Doubt, Inc. but that is not going to happen to any band who has longevity.

One night many years ago, my friend and I go to a Hollywood club called Dragonfly to see a supergroup of members of LA/OC hardcore punk bands play. The singer says stick around for the next band. Out comes this bleach blonde chola looking chick in dickies and a cut off wifebeater and dark lipliner. No Doubt and they put on a helluva show. 2 weeks later I'm driving to work at 5am and KROQ starts playing a song from the show that still stuck in my head. It was 'Just a Girl' and the rest is history.

Looks like some of the directions and warnings are trying to hype you up through the power of suggestion. I might check this out since I live in LA but there better not be a metal detector because the work tools are coming with just in case.
