Each of his quotes fills me with fire, that is a part of his power that I think the controlling parties want suppressed. Even now he can fill a person with inspiration and the will to fight.

No idea on the Canadian ACLU, this is a great way to get the information out. I will be linking this around.

This poor man. I didn't hear about him until today. I don't really watch much in the way of TV or movies, and this contributes to the why. I hope that he does recover.I also hope a few people don't resume being cynical.

Just to chime in on your bit about Victor Claiming Womanism. I didn't see that anywhere in this post. I am not a Womanist but I have the honor of guest posting on this blog often, so Victor may not be claiming that identity for himself. Though for the final word of course Victor has to speak up.

It is my hope that the next set of elected officials magically is better than we expect and changes the world progressively for the better. I also hope to win the lottery but I never buy a ticket.

I am glad that Aishwarya Rai is speaking out about this travesty. Many of my friends of Indian descent are enraged and this has been a big topic locally. The amount of hurt that her fans are feeling is immense. Regardless of her manager suggesting anger or not, her acknowledgment that hueism exists is important.

@HelDC I do that too, I have a bag of nonperishable snacks by my bed, my computer and then something in my purse for days when I have to go out.

Renee, I would like to point something out to you on food that is my experience, though yours may differ. Eating regularly has cut my pain load. My pain medication works better, I have more energy and there is more emotional stability to deal with having to ask for help. It may help balance out the need versus having to ask feelings. There are also the lessons for your boys about asking for help too.

Sprite, Vani, and I hope Canada is remarkably warm this winter and that you fare very well.

Thank you for this. I have been struggling to explain to someone why I think ignorance must be addressed and why willful ignorance which is the more common type sadly is not a true form of ignorance. I have linked my friend, and will link others.

This was a lovely experience! Thank you for sharing. I have had a lot of caregivers quit in the last year partly because they were not able to comprehend that when we go out and they help me, people react strongly. They react, they stare, and each time these carers have questioned why i even go out and do things. My response is usually, "Why shouldn't I?" Sometimes I explain the politics, but usually they're too upset for that. My current carer didn't react that way, as if the staring was about us. She is great partly because she understands, people are staring because we are something forbidden. Disability is the living Taboo.

I have yet to see a vegan campaign that doesn't other someone else. The vegan people who want to force everyone to eat vegetables also ignore that some people just cannot eat veggies, not everyone who eats meat eats cow, and so on. All their facts are based on the narrow lives of a few wealthy able bodied white people and it annoys me. They add in shit like this and I cry.

I am only getting your replies in email, I am going to presume the spam filter got them. I think we are in agreement, I just felt that there is no comparison because of the consent issue, which is a huge difference. I didn't even consider the kid issue, as I have never met any D/s couples that drag their kids into that aspect of the relationship.

I am sorry if I wasn't clear but no, I agree with you. I only mentioned M/s because there is again the issue of consent and misunderstanding. I am far from conventional with in my own relationships and do not judge until consent is removed, because as long as you are safe and everyone is aware of the boundaries it isn't my business. I also am glad you have happily found a mate who fulfills your needs.

If you want to talk further either here or in private we can definitely do so, I have a comment form on my blog so just drop a line there if the private method is your choice. I'll reply (may take some time but I will get there.)
