Happy SITS day! I think this is dead on. I'm heading back to part-time work in a week (I'm a teacher) and I just splurged and bought myself a flat iron. I decided that it DOES matter how I look, even on the days when I don't work, and I don't have the time to buy a new wardrobe. This is my nod to at least making a renewed effort. Great post!

I'm feeling very mad about the school's decision. I know there will be another option now or later, but I'm still mad for you. Also, i love the back and forth of this post. It does indeed feel very honest all the way through.

Recently I took one of my boys to the supermarket, walked around for 20 minutes filling my cart, and then realized when I got to the checkout that I didn't bring my wallet with me. So clearly, I'm with you in not triple-checking! Weird postscript is that as I was walking around putting everything back, this older woman asked me if I was putting things away. When I told her my story, she looked so shocked and sad and offered to pay for my groceries! I lived close enough to easily come back later, and I wouldn't have let her anyway, but I was awfully touched at her generosity. I hope I will always respond that way ... and pay for your lunch should I ever find myself in a restaurant with you - and not with your wallet!

Yes, I, too, feel very passionate about figuring out how to raise my boys to be good men. Sometimes the job seems absolutely overwhelming.

Congrats on being close to finishing school. Teaching is definitely the second most fulfilling job in my life, right after parenting.

Seriously? I am totally making this recipe for Thanksgiving dessert. No one can agree on anything else they want, but this is going to be my winner. You are fabulous for sharing it. (Libby is fabulous, too, of course!)

Hilarious. How did I never consider packing for a third or the family packages for four? So true. And yet... : )

I am totally losing over here with two boys, but going for a third munchkin could leave me so far outnumbered that I shudder to imagine it. Your list cracked me up. I suspect I'll be echoing it after kid #3 (if I have another, that is)!

So far we've really only taken the munchkins to family-friendly places, so no dirty looks or eye-rolling, yet. I admit to cringing when my husband and I left the kids at home to go to dinner once, only to be seated next to a screeching toddler. However, I acknowledged that I should've picked a different restaurant or gone out later, and tried to smile at the parents. I hope they recognized that it was a friendly smile and not a snarky one!

I love your list rebellion, even though I'm a list lover myself. You should definitely do Monday Listicles if you have more great ones like this in you!

I feel exactly the same way. I'm especially sad that since if there ever is a video, I'm the one taking it, my boys won't have any videos that I'm in with them! People said a videographer was a waste of money when I got married, but I've never regretted having one, and I'd love one again now, too!
