Excellent post Wendy. I am so glad that you are continuing to experiment to find the right combination of a WFPB food plan that will work for you. I feel that we are all a work in progress all the time. The UWL program that you introduced me to has been life changing and allowed me to get back to a healthy weight. I have been able to maintain my healthy weight for a year even though I have had many other health challenges this past year my stable brain chemistry, healthy plant based diet and my exercise routine has saved me! I look forward to reading more about what you are doing now and how it has worked for you - when you are ready to share it. I hope you start posting on your blog more often - I miss your posts!

Lot's of good wisdom shared here! Do the next right thing is one of my motto's! I had to give up perfectionism as it was causing me to always feel like a failure. Now I try to focus on my success and all the things that I am doing right. When my children were in elementary school their teachers did something called "caught being good" and instead of pointing out the negative behavior the teachers would call out the children who were"caught being good." They would get their name on the board, receive praise from the teacher and soon everyone was doing better and "caught being good." What we focus on grows and that can be negative or positive habits. Thanks for a wonderful post!

It sounds amazing Wendy and I wish I could attend and if I lived closer I would. Any chance that they will video tape this event and then offer us the opportunity to purchase viewing the video?

Giving up sugar and refined carbohydrates was the best thing I ever did for my health both mentally and physically. I just couldn't moderate the use of them. Now I love the way I eat and don't have that continual battle going on in my mind over what I should or shouldn't eat or if I should have seconds or not! I have a sense of peace and contentment that I didn't know existed or was possible for me.

Rolled Oats are processed so perhaps try oat groats and see how that goes.

I have never felt like you held back! It is because of your being honest and open about your food issues and your success with the UWL program that I am now healed! I look forward to you posting again - I miss you having that connection with you.

This sounds amazing Wendy - your enthusiasm comes shining through your writing! I have not attended any of the plant based conferences. Not from a lack of desire. I had bought tickets to see Chef AJ at Healthy Taste of Sacramento one year and then my parents decided to come all the way from Nebraska to see us so I had to cancel. Then we were going to attend Healthy Taste of LA this year but I ended up having surgery the week before and couldn't travel. I will get to one of the big events eventually!
