Dear SheReadsTruth friends in North America!
I've just discovered that the Lumo Project production of the Gospel of John has been released on Netflix in N America. I'm waiting patiently for this to be available to us in the UK and the rest of Europe soon, but it is so awesome that you should watch it now if you can! It contains the whole text of John (I think you can get NIV or KJV versions).
More details on the Lumo project website: http://www.lumoproject.com

If you live outside North America you can get selected clips via the YouVersion website or app, in the 'videos' section.

Blessings to you all!
Tabitha

Oh gosh, this brought me unexpectedly to tears. God has been repeatedly bringing this theme to my attention in recent weeks, so it's clearly something I need to understand. I've just blogged along a similar theme last week. The part about having a mind at peace struck a chord with me today and made me think of the verse from Isaiah 26:3 - "you keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you."
Our anger and our lust is rooted in a lack of trust in God's provision for us, or a doubt that he really intends the best for us.
Lots to think about.

There's something about these lists of names and genealogies that makes my hairs stand on end. Can't really put it into words.
Amazing.
The Bayeux tapestry is really beautiful in real life. We're fortunate to live a short ferry-hop away!
Have a blessed time in Estonia Candacejo!

I really like that Steph. There are times when I feel overwhelmed but I need to remember the great anticipation and hope of our God is more than enough to restore my courage!
I reckon I might need to get me a thesaurus!

As I've looked at this passage today (with my study pack which finally made its way to the UK, woohoo!) I've been struck by how much I struggle with work when I receive little in the way of feedback. I feel most at home with teaching and leading adults, but I also do a bit of youth work and I find this much harder. I think this is partly because you get so little immediate feedback from the young people! God is teaching me that I need to keep being obedient and keep faithfully laying those bricks. I need to trust him to use the little stuff I bring and use it for his glory and purpose.
Shallum would have had no idea that the Messiah himself would one day turn up and do amazing things at his section of the building project.
What a thought!
I also love the image of all these different people (love the idea of the nicely scented area of the wall built by the perfume makers!!) building smaller segments that join up to form a great structure.

Katie, I had exactly the same thought about it being made into a movie!

I noticed for the first time today that Jesus calls Peter "Simon, son of John", just as he did when he called him from his fishing boat back in chapter 1. At that time he said to him "You are Simon, son of John, you shall be called Cephas (which means Peter)". It's almost as if he's taking him back to that original calling and making it new. He ends with the same call, "Follow me".
Simon needs this restoration and reinstatement in order to truly become Peter, the rock, as we see him at the start of Acts.
God has to do some painful work in us sometimes before we can step forward into what he's prepared for us!

This has been such a helpful and encouraging challenge for Lent and I've really enjoyed reading what everyone has shared.
Here's my blog for this week: http://everythingthroughhim.wordpress.com/2014/04...

These prayers are so beautiful. I love the image of the Father's best robe that he gives to each of us every morning.
