Our Marriage Project : A World-Class Oatmeal Chef

I know this doesn't answer your question about what activities I do, BUT... I think you would really enjoy the book "The Wednesday Letters" by Jason F. Wright.

Our Marriage Project : The Book Nook

A couple of my favorites are "The Thorn Birds" by Colleen McCullough and "Down Where My Love Lives" by Charles Martin. "The Thorn Birds" is a must-read epic novel spanning several generations of a family in Australia. It is so very well written, and it is so compelling you won't want to put it down! "Down Where My Love Lives" is a beautifully heartbreaking novel that will move you like you wouldn't expect. Although heartbreaking, it allows you to get wrapped up into the story and experience the emotion of the main characters like no other book I've read. I hope you enjoy these!

Our Marriage Project : Blogging

Of course! I was just trying to confirm what you said. My blog makes me think, too. I don't specifically set out to do things so I can blog about them, but I am forced to think more deeply about them upon reflection. It's a good exercise - it's like well-presented journaling.

Our Marriage Project : “Domestics”

Okay, bear with me... this really is a compliment even though it is masquerading as rude realization.... I'm so glad you guys aren't perfect. I think for so long I have placed you two up on a pedestal because you guys seem to do everything perfectly with minimal flaw. These types of posts (where you show your vulnerability as a couple) are my favorite, though. It makes marriage real and no longer gives me this false sense of "everything is perfect when you're married". Yeah, yeah, I knew deep down that it wasn't, but I didn't really believe it until you both started opening your hearts to show us the sometimes nitty gritty side of marriage. I think my favorite non-crafties post to date is the Dirty Laundry post. It is refreshing to see that marriage isn't perfect 100% of the time, and I am so very thankful that you guys are sharing your story. Thank you for being vulnerable and real instead of fake and all sunshine and smiles in every post. God is working through you two and your blog to help me (and many others) grow! I love you guys, and I sincerely hope you found the enormous compliment in all of this!!

Our Marriage Project : Improving Home Improvement (is that already taken?)

I also like this: http://theprettypoppy1.blogspot.com/2010/07/prett...

Our Marriage Project : Dream Small

This is crazy, Kyle, but I was fixing to post on almost the exact same thing! I do not view this post as telling me not to dream big, but I view it as telling me to keep my life simple; there is a HUGE difference. I've been reading "100 Ways to Simplify Your Life" by Joyce Meyer, and #37 is "Stop Doing Things You Don't Do Well". I loved it because I'm finally getting to a place in my life where I'm learning to do what God has made me to do and not trying to do the things He didn't plan for me. We're not supposed to "think outside of the box" in which God has placed us. It's when we start trying to do things on our own that we start finding and getting into trouble. So, dream big inside of your box where your obedience to God brings great blessing, but be wary of stepping outside of it to dream in a realm in which God did not intend for you to be.

Our Marriage Project : 9 Things We’ll Always Buy Used

I almost always buy used books. There is no sense in paying $16.99 for a book when I can find it for 25 cents at The Salvation Army if I look hard enough! Plus, used books always have a better feel than new ones. The exception here is if a new title is released by my favorite author. I still shop around for the best price, but I don't feel bad for buying it new. I don't feel bad because I don't read a book once and then stash it away to never be read again. I often times re-visit books, and I'm always loaning them out. I honestly don't know the last time I had all of my books in one place!

Our Marriage Project : Monday Book Giveaway

Here are my three favorite things about Mondays: 1. Mondays are the beginning of my week. I use Sunday as a day to reflect so Monday starts with a fresh view on things. I am rejuvenated and ready to conquer the week. 2. Mondays are filled with ample opportunities to encourage others. As a rule, the general population hates Mondays. Anytime someone grumbles about the day, I try and offer them encouragement. It is a blessing to see their countenance change, even if for only a moment, because I know I have impacted their life. 3. Mondays bring a new set of weekly sales at Hobby Lobby. Enough said.

Our Marriage Project : As We Promised: Part II

Oh my goodness I loved everything about your wedding - especially your veil and the books! My favorite part, though, was how your wedding was about your relationship with God and with each other. Although I thought it was decorated perfectly (I loved EVERYTHING!!), I was never overwhelmed with material things, nor did I become distracted from the true reason I was there. I left your wedding that night feeling more full and overflowing with love than I ever have in my life. It took me nearly the whole trip home to digest everything that had happened (and to stop all my tears of joy!). From the bottom of my heart, thank you guys SO MUCH, for allowing God to work through you and being an example of His love for me! Thank you for putting the world aside and placing God first in your lives. It truly shows. I love you both!! -Syd P.S. Thank you SO MUCH for the tag!

I love this! You write so elegantly, Kyle! I feel like I was able to catch a glimpse of The Masters as it should be, instead of having to stare at it in front of a 20" non-HD screen for five hours straight like I did this past Sunday. I will experience The Masters some day - I won't just watch it.
