"security" is very rarely an actual concern and another false excuse that wasn't mentioned.

I have been a foster parent for a couple of years now, and all the kids I have had have been amazing! I can't wait to see the people they grow into.

I am so grateful that you guys were able to find something useful in a bowl of bad soup. Hang in there moms...we may not turn out exactly as you might have expected but many of us from trauma turn out to be OK, in our own rights.

you are absolutely right! this is a time to demand support for families! although what i believe what is commonly called RAD which is rare is way more likely to be PTSD. and most insurance companies will not cover the fringe types of "attachment" therapy that *some* adoptive families prefer....you know the ones...that lead to abuse.

This is so sad to me, because while a large percentage of kids who have been through the foster care system have some amount of Post traumatic stress Disorder (PTSD), RAD is actually rare when based on the DSM-IV criteria.
