We have those phases too when my husband seems to do nothing but work and get stuck in traffic. It is so hard on me to miss his presence and his help and so hard on the kids who often don't see him for days more than to get a passing kiss and a goodbye. But the phases always end. We both know we don't want that kind of lifestyle forever. Strength to you and plenty of sleep as you see your way through to the other end.
Yes! I had a resolution at the start of this year to simply step outside when I put the dogs out in the morning, rather than just opening the door for them. I have to say it has really made each day off to a better start. And I love the mud kitchen! I've been wanting to make one of those with the kids in their corner behind the garage...but I guess now it might just wait till the fall because we are just about to make out move inside in Houston when everyone else is moving out. Boo...
Thanks for such a detailed reply. I'm going to show this to my husband. We used to ride with our dogs a lot (pretty much daily), but really stopped when we had kids. No way I was doing it when I was pregnant...and my husband lost interest doing it alone. We just haven't gone back to it since. Thanks so much for all the tips!
So many lovely moments. I've been wondering about letting my dogs run with my son, but have been worried that he's too light still. Maybe it is just our dog who is too unpredictable. Did you wear your dog out at all first?
So many gorgeous handmade presents! Happy birthday to your little girl.
My gosh, I can't even imagine that such a cat exists, but there it is in photographic evidence. So funny!
I love that idea with the nest making supplies. My boys would absolutely love this. I managed to finally convince my three-year-old that haircuts were not the worst thing on earth when I started telling him that we'd leave his cut hair outside for the birds to make a soft pillow in their nests. It totally changed his attitude about getting his hair cut!
Me too! I've never met anyone else who had most of their teeth pulled. Some of mine didn't have enough enamel, but most of them just would wiggle and wiggle and wiggle and never fall out!
Love that tea shelf. How fun that they fit so perfectly in there! I have always found that tea storing needs its own particular attention. Why is that? Now I'm off to make myself a cup of tea. Thanks!
Totally agree about the Skuut. Both of my boys used one and both learned to ride a pedal bike without training wheels in a matter of minutes. In fact, my three-year-old (!) just learned to ride a week ago. He's still a bit too small for the pedal bike, so we give him a boost to get him going, but once he is on, he can do the rest by himself.
