HGTV Dreams Happen: Sweepstakes Blog : Step Inside HGTV Dream Home 2012

Not so much an issue for the men as for the women probably, and my spouse will definitely enjoy the tub. But both she and my daughter agree that something would need to be done to obscure the glass. Even if it's just the bottom panes.

Really like the master sitting room and master bedoom. Window on the shower of the master bath will take some getting used to. Family room is nice. Guest room better. Wish I could see more of its bathroom; guess some of the links are still being worked out. Changing room needs to change. Rather see a bedroom/office/library. However, that room is my only complaint. Worth the wait. :-)

Was that a gate or a stile? My first thought was the latter, just because of the angles.

I was thinking about using the downstairs bedroom between the kitchen/great room area and the game room as an office. Will have to see how it's set up.

The design of the great room might hold the key with the kitchen opening onto that space. How could you pass up sitting out there or sitting in the kitchen with those views or moving out onto the back porch? The one thing I would like to definitely see in the kitchen, however, is some sort of media access: internet, television. I liked the hidden center in the Vermont kitchen.

It seems more open than the Vermont kitchen. The space occupied by the dining table seemed so tight in those picture. Barely room for one person to walk through between the chairs on the island the chairs at the dinner table. Of course, those were only pictures. This kitchen / dining room should benefit because it's not being used as a path from one part of the house to another.

Truthfully, all the banners are good. I voted for dreamy, but I'd actually like to see the banners rotate, since they all highlight different and excellent aspects of the home.

HGTV Dream Home : New Info to Chew On

The image does say changing room, but the floor plan doesn't show a "changing room." :-) My thought on the discrepancy is this room is probably part of a bathroom suite in the former bunk room/now guest room. The number of windows seems right.

Looking through the rooms at your link, and I ran across the one for the upstairs bedroom. I can't seem the find the floor plan that shows bunk rooms any longer, and so the closet layout for that bedroom struck me as odd, since it's only ONE closet and not two. Which is what I would expect if there were two bunk rooms (boys and girls) separated by a centrally placed bathroom. One closet for boys and girls? Hmm ... is it possible they've tossed the bunk rooms because of problems with positioning everything around the balcony on the backside? One can only hope. I like a single bedroom (or even two double beds) rather than two bedrooms outfitted with bunk beds, which hews too close to the unique elements in Vermont.

My youngest daughter said she wanted to have the bedrooms above the game room if we won the house (until she heard they were made into a bunk room). She's a big fan of greenish colors, though, and the guest bedroom paint seems to cross the line between green and blue in a nice way. I think she'll like the bed. Looks good.
