Been hustling on a dream. Don't feel like it today. This is helpful.

Yes, more than one way to skin a cat. I try to have the mindset of "whatever works." If the method gets results and isn't immoral why change it just because it's not how you would do it?

I think a well run meeting is crucial. I've had to run some, though, and that's easier said than done. Last week Jon Acuff wrote a post suggesting that some meetings be conducted without chairs to keep people from getting too comfortable so they'd get to the point. Sounds interesting.

The mindset you describe is what I'm trying to grow out of. Looking up to people becomes hero worship and then degenerates to self deprecation. The truth is, I'm just one guy in a long line of millions of men who have faithfully taught the Bible and led with integrity and never become world-renowned. When I really think about it, that's all I want.

Wow, trying to kill your own ideas even after other people have bought into them does seem pretty radical. I can see how it might build ownership, as you said, as others start to defend a position that originally wasn't their own. It seems like such a scary step to take, though.

It brings criticism. People start saying, "The old way has worked all this time. Why do we need a new way?"

Yes it does, thanks for clarifying. I can think of a few guys I have admired for their willingness to tackle those sensitive topics or projects.

I agree, Charles. This is one that I unfortunately see all the time. Boy, I hope I'm not guilty of it because it is so de-motivating.

Ron, do you mind elaborating on "limiting leadership exposure"? I'm not sure what that means.
