Dorothea - corruptio optimi pessimum.
This was, according to the Mail, a nice, well brought up Queenslander who travelled the world and was nice to everyone he met. Then he went to France, saw the elderly white people and their lack of children and the teeming Muslims taking over. That changed him.
Me - I think we live in changing times and we must get used to it. I am a Catholic myself - out of choice. We had the IRA…
My website discusses Islam as it really is. Please do feel free to take a look: https://genesis2019.blogspot.com

Worry not.
All that has to happen is - nothing. Then, on 29th next month at 11 p.m. (midnight European time) we will be expelled from Europe, the EEA and all intercourse with Europe too.
Then it will be time to tighten our belts and stand up to the future like men.

Could not agree more! Well written!

My brother, when times were rough, used to take down a volume of Punch dating back to the 1890s and read the crises that had taken place in our long history. Me, I used to read "Our Island Story". Very comforting. I still read history and have done all my life and find it an enormous consolation. The challenges in the article are very like those of today.

"how they can be deradicalised"
Are you absolutely sure that this does not mean taking the oomph out of their Faith? I am not at all sure however how that is going to work. For simple people - aged 15? - it is so easy to accept "Sharia" literally - like ISIS did - and go from there. Especially if you have been brought up in Europe with European values: you just reject the lot.

Modern Islam is under great stress at the moment, both from scholars and from its own youth. I am working on a website at the moment which addresses that question. https://genesis2019.blogspot.com
I would like to invite you and your readers to take a look at it.

Thank you for a very perceptive and helpful article. There is a religious take on this here too :http://archbishopcranmer.com

You must be joking!
Paganism was simply disgusting.
Slavery?
Women? Nero? Caligula? Tiberius and the minnows? Gannymede? Europa and the Bull?
Scientific and medical progress? Galen, Aristotle, Plato - still done, I understand, in Iran by theological students! Socrates, as we know, died naturally…The Jewish Temple was not desecrated in 70 a.d.
Open and compassionate? Erm…Crucifixion anyone? Spartacus for afters?
:0)

"Hinds: “There are good community integration reasons why the cap is as it is.”

ConHome: “This applies to Muslims as well.”"

I am doing a website which you might like to look at. Islam faces two challenges at the moment, neither of which is much talked about. I am trying to spotlight them. By doing the website, I have learned a lot about Islam that i did not even suspect before. It is a religion which is in real difficulties, not the vast inevitable monolith I once thought is was. https://genesis2019.blogspot.com

For the past two years, I have been saying the only safe way to leave the EU was through Efta. There would have been no trouble with the border in N. Ireland. We would have been free, like Norway is, to trade with the rest of the world. We could have discussed Freedom of movement and we would have had the joint committee running regularly to allow us opt-outs.
But no.
Whenever I wrote it, people came up with objections like the ECJ (Efta has its own courts), lots of personal invective. whenever I quoted Dr North, I was ridiculed and insulted, often personally.
Now, all you brave web warriors, please tell me if the WA or if a hard Brexit are preferable?
I am waiting .
