Awful story. You'd think a place as regulated as Singapore (one of my favourite places in the world, but boy, they need to lighten up) would have really strict rules about not putting blowtorches down where they can fall into a fryer! I hope that restaurant has that rule now.

He sounds controlling, and possibly violent and abusive. Not your fault.

Breastfeeding is just eating. Why are you so disgusted by someone eating?

Why would anyone need to mix formula if they're breastfeeding their child? This story is obviously fake.

I find diamond engagement rings so dull and predictable. I'd have a green garnet, or a topaz, or a tourmaline, or something else that's pretty and interesting.

The remarks about England are incorrect. In the UK (which is more than just England), the bride is supposed to pay for the bridesmaid's outfits, and then can do what she wants with them afterwards - sell them, or whatever. It is becoming more common now for the bridesmaids to pay themselves, but in that case, they would wear their own choice rather than the bride imposing a style. I think it's incredibly rude to ask people to be your bridesmaids and expect them to pay for the honour - if you can't afford bridesmaids, don't have them.

GSTQueen, you're either woefully ignorant or deliberately offensive. Either way, it's sad.

It's not pedantic if you're from one of the three UK countries which are not England, and where people are sick of ignorant people using "England" to describe the whole of the UK.

Northern Ireland is not part of Great Britain. It is part of the UK, which is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Saying you're going to England to visit people in Wales makes as much sense as saying you're going to California to visit someone in Idaho.
