Claudia and her brother Jamie of From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankenweiler. Loved the idea of spending the night in the Met. The idea captivated the grade school me.

I don't write about my children and adoptive related behavior issues. In my experience age makes it better and more difficult. And yes. I do talk and or email teachers. I've a daughter in high school and a son in elementary. I didn't used to communicate about this for fear they would be labeled. But after so much reading and seeing that their behavior is not unexpected -- I do. We adopted both our children as infants. As for me, The Primal Wound was life-changing. I'm now reading Healing the Primal Wound geared to adult adoptees. I pray daily -- or is it moment by moment -- that God give me wisdom in this journey as an adoptive parent. (We also have a biological child who is a college senior.).

Yay. Great post. And such a cute pic of Anne. I'm like you -- not really sure where I fit in this midlife puzzle but I know I'm there. It was fabulous to be around such positive women. Like you.

I forgot about that Josh Groban song. It is beautiful. And mimosas are yummy! We always have them on Christmas morning. And that tea cup is quite lovely too. Have a great week.

Finished Leaving Time recently. Kind of lost interest halfway through and read Jojo Moyes One Plus One. Glad I went back to LT. Halfway it really picked up and had me hooked.

Funny. I see gold and white in shadow. And have no idea who this Charlie person is. Though I do know about the black and white llamas. Going back up to click on Charlie link.

I'm with you. Sad face that summer is fading away for another year. Love that you have a cabin. How fun. And re chiropractors. I just started going and already am in love. I can move my neck more than I have been able to for decades. Lots to be thankful for on that.
My recent post Never underestimate the power of an Arnold Palmer.

I love being outdoors but I'm not the camper. Hope your aches and pains stayed away since you weren't on your new mattress. And darn Arthur. I guess it's inevitable that that first storm has to come. Glad it didn't mess up your plans.

Even though we are in a semi-rural area, we live on the busiest street, right through the heart of town. When my children were younger I was petrified to let them out with me not hovering over them. Then play dates. Having to watch not only my kids but make sure other kids weren't darting out into the street. Oy vey. Your property looks beautiful. I hop on my bike and I'm out in the country in 10 minutes. Looks a lot like your photos.

Woo hoo. It does make such a difference. I'm driving a car that was my Dad's till he passed away. I love it because it's paid for and of course reminds me of him. But there is nothing like a new ride. Enjoy it Greta.
