This sounds so disappointing. I was excited about this book until I heard many “meh” things about it. I kind of also spoiled myself and there were some plot aspects that I particularly wasn’t a fan of. Hopefully your next read is better!

Hah I can't wait for this book! I feel like my rating for this will probably be closer to 3/3.5 stars, but I do love all the love that it's getting. Yay for the bisexual main character, and I like the fact that it deals with death as well. Truth be told I'd probably root for the villains as well LOL

Okay between yours and Shannon's reviews, Val, I definitely will be sticking with this past the first 10 pages. :P I feel like 1% is such a drastic change for writing styles! Anywho, I'm always intrigued about time traveling books and I love how this one really puts these recent histories in a reader's face. If you decide to pick up the sequel, I really hope it gets better!

Hmm at this particular story. I enjoyed one of Ness's books but haven't had a chance to read his more popular ones (the one I read was The Rest of Us Just Live Here, which I rather did end up enjoying). I love how this is an #OwnVoices story about a gay main character - I feel like in regards to YA, there aren't many out there. But sorry you had no real excitement about this one Val. I can see how it can be confusing or just vague at times.

LOL at your description for this post Val, haha. I haven't read any of Zappia's books but they've literally been on my TBR for years (since Made You Up at least). I've heard just the greatest things about Eliza! Although after reading your spoiler I'm mehh about the love interest because seriously - wtf. Also funny how you haven't read the middle, lol. #relatable

I really need to read the duology for The Abyss Surrounds Us! Like, right now. Or at least when I get back from vacation lol.

I don't have anything to say about Midnight at the Electric because it never interested me but hey, that cover's pretty.

YES 5 STAR.

But noo, so long ago. :'( I guess it's hard for a book to make a comeback after this awesomeness! I hope you get another 5 star soon. :D
