Beautiful write, Mr. DP! The description of the tear is breathtaking. I'm going to share it with my friend with whom I only share exquisitely written pieces. Yours certainly qualifies. Thank you!

I've had cats throughout my life. They live both indoors and out which I think gives them a chance to compete with their own kind outside. Plus, I chose males over females. I had two females, both given to me under dire circumstances that prevented me from saying "no". Both were bitchy, moody and miserable...nothing at all like the human counterparts! :D My recent post Gone Livin’ – ♥♥

What a clever and creative response to your prompt. Any young person who may be in a similar boat can be given the courage to speak up & be heard by an adult. You've come through this so well, Pamela. No, there's no perfection. But it's good to know that you love what you have and, thereby, have given yourself a sense of Heaven.

The Pen & Muse : Guest Post: Just Write It. By Heather Grace Stewart

Learning how other writers manage their writing life intrigues and motivates me. Serious writers put seat to chair and get to work. When I don't feel like centering, it's decision time - for me. Am I going to ignore a passion that demands expression and implode? Or, am I going to offer an opening that looks like one thing and often thrills the heck out of me by being something I could never dream up with my left-brain mind?

That's exactly where I landed...I needed a Time Out. Now I don't wait until I feel negative thoughts bubbling up. I take a time-out more often, allow myself to skip over other blog comments, land on some more sporadically and feel much more refreshed for writing or preparing a post. Great subject!

Speaking of Madeleine L'Engle, she taught me my mantra: Write clean as bone, clear as glass and smooth as stone. Ms. L'Engle presented a door to writing prose as majestically as poetry. She also gave me permission to shut out the world and follow my bliss.

Brian Betts, a Canadian writer, just received an award after submitting work 25 times - once a year. That's tenacity. It bothers me that writers have such a tiny slit through which we must slip in order to reach daylight. What other art form is decided upon by one or two people? Thank goodness for the Internet.
As some others have said, when I begin to feel behind or stressed or down or burned out, I take a break. Balance is key for me. If I don't maintain a good balance, that's when I become overly critical toward myself, and doubtful about my writing purpose. Good reminder - thanks. Also, I read a blog last night where a young man follows the 30/30 principle and it has given him his life back. He writes diligently for 30 minutes then forces himself to play or do other kinds of non-computer work for 30 minutes. When he is finished writing, then he'll do emails, facebook, etc, in the writing block. He said this has not only helped his brain and emotions, it has helped his physical fitness. (I do not remember the blog name, I'm afraid.)
