I am a supporter of business but BP not only totally screwed this up but, it seems that they have quite a history of disregarding safety. It gives the rest of the industry a bad name (or at least even more of a bad name since the media isn't quite friendly to the oil industry). But without Big Oil we would all still be on horses, so for now, we still need them. I think that the only regulation the Oil Industry needs to be regulated with from this whole Gulf Disaster is that they MUST have a system in place for repairing deep water spills in a timely fashion. If I were president of an oil company with deep water rigs I would make sure that this type of thing could be acted upon quickly. But that's just me.
