Hello! I was hunting around for Canadian Homeschool blogs and I came across yours! As it happens, C.S. Lewis' science fiction trilogy (beginning with Out of the Silent Planet) are some of my favourite books of all time - I'd highly recommend giving them a try. My homeschooled 13-year old just read the first one and really enjoyed it too.
