Considering the direction this industry is going in, I don't really expect many will get a new job as a game developer...

Seens like you were really wrong on the Microsoft prediction. They actually showed off a lot of cool games, and didn't even mention the Kinect.

Bummer, makes playing 1v1 local impossible for me, since I don't have more than 3 Motion+ Wiimotes/attachments.

I have a feeling this is partly due to the new leadership at Microsoft (Phil Spencer replacing Don Matrick as CEO).

Considering Scandinavian countries now also can get the free-game promotion (despite not having Club Nintendo), I will probably get this game launch-day :D

I'm wondering exactly what people mean when they talk about a game saving a console. Does it mean a slight increase in sales, or a huge bump that rockets the console past competitors?

Either way, I'm expecting Mario Kart 8 to sell really well, considering how popular Mario Kart games have been since Mario Kart DS. I expect it to move a ton of units in the long run, and with the future releases of long-awaited games like Zelda Wii U and X, I expect the reception of the Wii U to get much better, and sales will hopefully after a while pass that of the Gamecube.

Having on-screen notifications on either (or both) the gamepad or TV-screen would be sweet, considering you can't press home to check notifications in an online playsession.
