That's true.

I don't really think they'll be changing up their formula all that much, but it was something that raised the eyebrow a bit. Execs run the show, and they make the decisions. I hope they realize that the adult demo is watching the show for what it was intended to be, not for what they think they want from it.

I don't mean fanworks at all. I'm perfectly fine with how they treat fanworks. I don't actually care about that many fanworks anyway.

What I meant is that people are moving to other media devices. Smart phones, tablets, laptops, etc. Things are increasingly online, and kids are migrating their just as much as young adults and adults. So, that in mind, perhaps they'll add more features to their website or do other things to get their products out there.

It doesn't necessarily have to fall into the spectacle creep territory. That is to say, they don't need to keep one upping themselves in terms of scale. They don't need to go bigger than Tirek.

Couple of ideas off the top of my head.

1) Time travel to deal with problems with StarSwirl, or any plot involving StarSwirl in some way
2) A villain threatening Equestria in the same manner as Tirek, but the plot and scope can be bigger because... movie.

These next ones involve personal struggles, and one be events to end the series.

3) Celestia and Luna leaving the pony world behind, knowing they're time is done and they leave it in capable hands
4) Twilight, Spike, and the others growing apart and choosing to go their own paths in life, yet still remaining friends, no matter what.
5) Some plot involving harmony, and why they represent the things that they do, and what it means for the future of Equestria. That's really existential though, so I doubt we'd see that.

Re-imagining of product line: This could be okay, products would be the toys and merchandise. Maybe they'll follow more closely to the show. It would all depend on their market data.

Look at our digital strategies: This is the real interesting bit, imo. Digital strategies like distribution or availability of their products? More importantly it shows that the higher ups are recognizing the flow of technology and how their primary demographic consumes all products, not just theirs.

Social media strategies: Not sure what to make of this. Probably just more interacting on-line and focusing their advertisements on-line

Not sure how I feel about the brony acknowledgement, though. So far, the pandering in pony has been little to non-existent. I don't care what other people complain about. There is a strong difference between shoutouts/acknowledgements and pandering. FiM and even EQG has done very little pandering. But with them finally turning an eye toward the brony audience, I'm not sure that's a good thing.

Not sure how I feel about this.

All the way out in 2017? Hope that's not and end of the series thing.

But uh... guess everyone get's what they wanted.

I'd like to see them do whatever it takes to finally set up for Equestria Academy, if that is a thing, and stays a thing. Wouldn't want it to take time away from pony, but it looks like a studio other than DHX is doing it. So no issue, I guess. More Sunset, less pony Twilight. Which seems like where they're going.

As for a pony movie... I don't want one. Yeah, I said it. I'm neutral on it, if they decide to make one, I'll for sure watch it. But I'm not clamouring for one like everyone seems to. FiM is so good because it's an episodic TV show. The characters grow because they have episodes devoted to themselves across several seasons. More stories can be told, and more situations can crop up to shape them even more. This just couldn't be done to that degree in a movie, and I think it wouldn't be as effective. I'm perfectly fine with FiM staying as a seasonal show.

The problem is less the cameo (I mean for us it is, but not for IDW), the problem is that he openly credited the cameo and then said, "I agree with this person who is attacking the people who buy our comics!"

How hard is the concept, "Don't shit where you eat." to understand? Don't hate the people you sell stuff to. Don't shit on your comic readers. In what world is that ever going to end well???

But fine, you want to think this is just about bronies? Forget bronies, forget SJW, forget the "sides" of this issues. Just forget them for a moment. A company is selling a product. That product is owned by one or more entities, it belongs to them. An individual cannot use that platform to promote their own views. They do not own it. If the individual was fired for doing that, the company had every right to protect their product and image. Especially when said product was designed to be inclusive and promote friendship, not hate.

From what I saw, I think it improved over the first. But with all things, you should remain sceptical and not let the "OMG AWESOMESAUCE!!1!" comments influence you. Some cliffnotes of what I thought, and I'll keep it vague.

- Sunset was real good in this movie. Her redemption was gradual and genuine, and not at all rushed. Personally, I felt that the delivery and execution of this one was what people probably were looking for with Discord's
- The interactions Twi had with the human friends felt more... natural, i guess? First movie was pretty much a rehash of the pilot, at least in those parts. Here it felt more natural.
- Villains were cliche, but still executed well imo. Just a let down after Tirek.
- Animation was more natural
- Wasn't really expecting a moral, but this movie did have a theme/lesson, and it was tied to Sunset. I won't say what it is, but I thought it was practical and useful, especially for kids. Kinda similar to Testing Testing 1,2,3's moral.

I enjoyed the first movie as a popcorn flick. Acknowledged it's many flaws, but still didn't think it was the piece of garbage that others did. This is one is step up, imo. It's still no FiM, and I more or less enjoyed it on a similar level. It's Meh on the side of good. Make of that what you will.

Also, the scene at the end credits was... interesting. It's not all like the one from the first. Make sure you watch it.

Gilda, Trixie, Zecora, Celestia, Cadance, Spitfire, etc.

Any of the side characters. I don't even think they need their "own episodes." Each of these characters have ties to one of the main cast, so it would be reasonable to pair them with that individual and have an episode.

Twitter just isn't a good place for criticism or discussion of any kind. What meaningful topic is going to be discussed with only 140 characters?
