The American scene isn't significantly better. Feast of Blades also had half the invitational attendees in 2014 that we had in 2013. (50 instead of 100) The news from pretty much everywhere has been a huge decline in tournament attendance. I expect Adepticon will sell out as it always does, but it seems most events have lost a great many players. Attendance for all other game systems is way up though, 40k may be slowly losing it's juggernaut status, but there are plenty of alternative scenes hitting the market these days.

The DW and FSA rulesets are very, very similar, almost to the point where they're cross-compatible with just a little work. I play a ton of DW and I love it. =)

Wow, those tactical objectives are... hideously bad. Some even look like repeats of what was already in Maelstrom, so what is the point of them? So you can have that objective in your deck twice? They're silly, which is really too bad, I was looking forward to some faction-specific stuff coming out.

If it makes you feel any better, Maelstrom missions are much more difficult for Eldar, as they can't afford to hold back and make their usual endgame plays.

Oddly, I'm liking my White Scars army MORE now, but maybe that's because I get jinks when going second now on the first turn, so I can be a little more aggressive with my scouts.

That has to be the case, it's really clunky playing without the cards but really smooth with them.

The different types are there because there is a rule that each player can only complete each tactical objective once in a game. With those identical-but-named objectives, it gives you the chance to score each objective three times throuhgout the game.

It also means the chart is 1/2 objectives, so they're always a game factor, usually every turn. That is the purpose of having the "same" objective 3 times in the deck.

WWP portal just says "From the on, any of your units that arriving from reserve may move onto the board from the portal marker's edge..."

No codex-specific restrictions, I think actually any ally unit can come on with it.

Pedro makes Sternguard OS because his chapter is on the brink of annihilation, and there's not many troopers *left* to fight, so even elite troopers have to be called out to hold the line. He gets it because it's a fluffy, glorious last stand of a chapter that's about to fall.

The Raven Guard are alive and well, and Shrike doesn't show any affinity for stubborn defense in any way. Why would he make Vanguard Vets OS?
