Not enough extended poetry recitations - nothing gets girls going like extended extracts of pseudo-Gaelic poems - they love all that man brooding

My real name (this is a sneaky internet one) means "daughter of silver" which I think is awesome and very Tolkien-y. However, when they say things like "95% of people are descended from x-monarch" I've always thought how crap it would be if you were one of the teeny-tiny percentage of people descended from the gutter-un-clogger or something and everyone else has lovely megalomaniac royal ancestors.

18th century men and fancy cats are pretty much all I desire to fill my life with. Thank you for allowing this to happen.

Also, thanks for the name ideas - may god save my future children . . .

I never fail to enjoy how much the pearl maiden looks like Quasimodo in a dress in that illumination. Whichever poor monk slaved away at it was *so close* to trying perspective but also so, so far.

Again it is on the toast I find my people.

Personally I blame my obsessive rereading of pride and prejudice as a teen - that whole courtship is essentially based on plausible deniability on both sides so I just thought that was what flirting was.

I adore that bio - it is quite deliciously readable. I know it is wrong and bad (all my history inclined friends reserve a particularly cold death stare for whenever I mention it) but I can't help but enjoy how much she clearly wanted to be there at the Sun King's court.

Also I am so there for her cattiness about Louis's mistresses.

As a student at the superior half of Oxbridge I can confirm "Never went to Eton but tried to be friends with men who went to Eton" could easily be the death of many a man (or woman tbh)
