WMPoweruser.com : Why are TomTom and Alk CoPilot turning their back on $5 million

All they have to do is call up Microsoft and tell them that they are willing to build GPS app and let them use the "special" API that couple handpicked companies have... I dont see any reason why MS should say no. BTW, I really do not understand what special multi-tasking they would need. Multi-tasking within the app itself is available, so receiving the GPS coordinates, locating that on the map, refreshing the new map locations unvieled due to movement... works fine as long as they know how to program.

WMPoweruser.com : Pressure for Nokia/Windows phone 7 grows as analyst calls Meego “the biggest joke in the tech indu

IMO, when a company embraces certain platform, they do it to grow (unless they have strong enemity and have money they dont know what they can do with it ;) )... So if Nokia embraces WP7, they will try to succeed with their new partnership and come out with phones that can compete with other hardware competitors. Not ugly phones as some of the options expressed above.

This works very well on my HTC Mozart. The graphics are pretty neat. However, needs some fine tuning as well as scoring before going live.

This is how it works... 1. Before release: WP7 = Fail (DOA) 2. Day of the release: Only 40,000 phones sold on day 1? WP7 = Fail 3. 1 week after release: No sales figures, WP7 = Fail 4. 3 weeks after release: iOS has 300K apps, WP7 = Fail 5. 4 weeks after release: 1.5M in 4 weeks that too to operators (Android does 300K in a day), WP7 = Fail 6. 1 year after release: Only 10% market share after 1 year? WP7=Fail 7. 2 years after release: WP7 still has less market share than iOS and Android, WP7= Fail 8. 3 years after release: iOS + Android together has more market share than WP7. MS=Fail 9. 4 years after release: hi, i am an iphone... hi, i am a WP7... iphone: i am cool, you suck... MS=Fail 10. 5 years after release: MS is giving MS office free with WP7, they are using their monopoly to kill competition... MS=evil
